"A Little Good News, Part 2"
from Selected Scriptures

The Church

John MacArthur recently wrote these words about the Church: "Whatever misrepresentations there are in this world about the church, and whatever weaknesses exist within the true body, that doesn't diminish the Savior's commitment to His bride, nor does it derail His promises. There is no Plan B and there are no substitutes.

"By God's design, the church is the center of every believer's spiritual life. It is where we study, feed, grow, train, correct, comfort, partake in the ordinances, and minister to one-another. The church was given for our protection, instruction, discipline, and equipping. It is a lighthouse, greenhouse, hospital, classroom, and crucible. It is not an optional path among many, nor is it merely an aid to our spiritual life; it is central."

This is very much the view of Grace Bible Church, as well.

Kids for the Lord

We are still in need of several volunteers to sign up for our Prayer Partners program. If you can pray, then you are qualified and we NEED you! The purpose is to have someone, other than a parent or grandparent, praying for each of our kids in class. All that is required is a willing heart to pray regularly for the child you will be given and to occasionally send them a card or small gift letting them know you are praying for them. I cannot stress how important it is to make sure they received a physical token as a reminder of your prayers for them. If you would like to volunteer to be a part of this program, PLEASE sign up as soon as possible. We would like to assign all children by November 7.

Thank you!
Sandy McGlassion
