Jesus
The Reason for the Season

"A Christmas Visit from the Old Shepherd"
What would it be like to have a visitor in church today, who has come
from the Judean hillsides the night of the birth of Jesus Christ?

What memories would this old shepherd have?
What lessons has he learned?
What message does he have for us today?

Merry Christmas

Although Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol' did not make a clear
presentation of the redeeming Gospel, it did a wonderful job in
demonstrating the depravity of man. Our favorite Christmas story,
in Matthew 1-2 and Luke 1-2, enlightens us to the redeeming work
of God in this dark world.

Merry Christmas. God bless us everyone!

2009 Christmas Outreach

Today is the last day the World Outreach Committee requests your
participation in the special 2009 Christmas outreach.

This year, in response to the difficulties many are facing,
the W.O.C. is collecting funds to specifically relieve the material needs
of several families in our extended church congregation.

Please enclose your special benevolence gift in an envelope separate
from your regular giving, marked CHRISTMAS, and with your
identification so that it will be counted in your annual giving summary
for tax purposes.

A Christmas Prayer by Robert Louis Stevenson
Loving Father,
help us remember the birth of Jesus
that we may share in the song of the angels,
the gladness of the shepherds,
and worship of the wise men.
May the Christmas morning make us happy
to be Thy children, and Christmas evening
bring us to our beds with grateful thoughts,
forgiving and forgiven, for Jesus' sake.
Amen.
