Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child

Samaritan's Purse
Operation Christmas Child

Camilla McKee will have the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Boxes at Church this coming Sunday (October 6th) and next Sunday (October 13).

Please pick up your box or boxes, fill them and return them by Nov 17.

The cost of shipping is $7.00 per box.

If you wish to pay when you pick up your box you can; or you can write a check  and put a notation on it that it is for Shoe Boxes and Beth can write  one check for all.

You can also give Camilla cash or a check made out to her. Please just let Camilla know that is what you are doing.

As in the past she will make the donation for all boxes on-line to Samaritan's Purse and print tracking labels for each box.

Sometime in December or early January, they will send Camilla an email as to where our boxes went. Last year they went to Rwanda.

It is suggested that you put a note and a picture of you and your family in your boxes. They say the children love to get them.

Operation Christmas Child, 2010

Operation Christmas Child

The children who were in attendance on Nov. 21 were asked to
help by bringing the shoe boxes to the front of the auditiorium so we could pray for those children who would receive them.

After they accomplished that, a picture was taken.
We thank God for the children who are part of our church family.

The children also helped by carrying the boxes out to
Bob & Camilla McKee's van.
They then took them to the distribution center in Dearborn.
We are very thankful that we were able to prepare 53 boxes this year!

Thank you to everyone who participated in this years's
Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes, 2009

Children from Kids for the Lord brought all the boxes upstairs
and placed them on the Communion Table.

After our morning service, Pastor Bill & our Kids for the Lord
gathered for a picture

Each person in attendance went to the front of the church
to hold a box as Pastor Bill prayed for these gifts to reach those in need.

After service, the boxes were delivered to the next destination point
in Dearborn, MI

We are grateful that we were able to build and
deliver 59 shoebox gifts.
Let's continue to pray that the Lord Jesus will use these gifts
to introduce children around the world to
His amazing love an salvation.

Our thanks to everyone who helped make this a success.

Operation Christmas Child, 2009

It's that time again....Operation Christmas Child

It's time to begin building our shoe boxes for Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child. Shoe boxes must be packed and ready to take to the main collection center by Nov. 16-23. That's just 4 1/2 weeks away! We will need to meet at some point during the week of Nov. 8-13 to fill the boxes. Below is a list of items suggested to fill the boxes.

Note: We already have plastic shoe boxes with lids; crayons; pencils & note pads.

If you want to build your own boxes you will need to get your own boxes. There will be labels to put on them, and envelopes to put the money in to to send each box at church. The cost per box remains at $7.00 each.
It is our goal to again build 50 boxes and if you wish to contribute to the cost of sending them, please see Camilla McKee

Please let Camilla know what items you are purchasing so we don't have duplicates. Since we're building 50 boxes, you will need to purchase 50 of the item you choose. Dollar stores are a good suggested place to shop for this.

GIFT IDEAS
*Toys ... Small cars (such as Match Box or Hot Wheels), small balls, small stuffed animals (such as Beanie Babies), kazoos, small harmonicas, yo-yos, small jump ropes, small Etch-A-Sketch, toys that light up or make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky, etc.

*School Supplies ... Pens, pencil sharpeners, stamps and ink pad sets, solar calculators, small coloring and small picture books, small packs of makers, etc.

*Hygiene Items ... Toothbrush (travel size suggested), small tubes of toothpaste, individual mild bar soap (place in a plastic baggie), comb, washcloth, etc.

*Other ... Hard candy & lollipops (please double bag all candy in plastic baggies), mints, gum. Socks, sunglasses, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries).

A Personal Note ... In a separate envelope you may enclose a note to the child and a photo of yourself or your family. If you include your name & address the child may write back.

DO NOT INCLUDE
Used or damaged items; war-related items such as toy guns, knives or military figures; chocolate or food; out-of-date candy; liquids or lotions; medications or vitamins; breakable items such as snow globes or glass containers; no aerosol cans of any kind.

Thanks for your help,
Camilla McKee

Operation Christmas Child, Pt. 3

Our Thanksgiving Service was held on Nov. 23. Before the service began, members of our congregation each held one or more of the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and a prayer of dedication was given. The boxes were then placed on the altar by those who held them.

After the service, volunteers carried the boxes outside to
Bob & Camilla McKee's van.

Each box was carefully packed and made ready for the trip to the drop-off destination,
Fairlane Alliance Church, in Dearborn, MI

At Fairlane Alliance church, Camilla signs in for Grace Bible Church.
We gave a total of 61 boxes this year. Camilla was told that Fairlane Alliance takes in about 6,000 boxes per year; and another church collection sight takes in about 5,000.

We again thank everyone who was involved in this year's Operation Christmas Child.
A big 'Thank You' goes to Camilla McKee for over-seeing this project once again.
And a big "Thanks" to Joel Ashby for the photography work.

Operation Christmas Child, Pt. 2

On November 2, the Kids for the Lord class members presented Pastor Bill and Grace Bible church with a special offering. This money represented their offerings during most of 2008, and they wanted it to help with this year's Operation Christmas Child. Pastor Bill graciously received their gift and gave time for those who wanted to share what was on their hearts.

After service that morning, many of the congregation met in the lower level for lunch and then spent time carefully packing each box.

Operation Christmas Child, Pt. 1

Each Christmas we take part in Operation Christmas Child, a ministry supported by Franklin Graham, president of Samaritan's Purse. "Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through gift-filled shoe boxes and the Good News of God's love."

This year our goal is to minister to 50 children. On Sunday, Nov. 2, following our morning Worship Service, volunteers will enjoy a Multiple Choice Lunch and then gather to fill those 50 boxes.

What can you do? Contact Camilla McKee to see what items are needed to put in the boxes. Pray that God will touch the heart of every child who receives a shoe box gift and that He will bring many children and families to faith in Christ.

Help pack a gift on Nov. 2. Simply be here for our Worship Service & then meet with other folks in the lower level of the church.

Give. It will cost $7.00 per box to mail these boxes. If you can help in any area, please contact Camilla or Pastor Bill.
