Good news! After years of being closed the Bonnymill Inn in Chesaning has re-opened and is ready for guests! Chesaning is about 120 miles from downriver.

This Inn is where we've held our Ladies Retreats for ten years and we're hoping to have a Ladies Retreat there this October 21 &  22.

A few changes have been made however. Our breakfast is not included in the room rate, but range in price from $5.00 - $8.00, plus drinks. Dinner menus range from $10.00 - $16.00.

The room rates, based on two women per room, range from $90.00 - $120. plus any taxes that apply.

The important thing is having enough interest to pursue having a retreat this Fall. If you are interested,  please sign up at the church by Sunday, August 14! I know this is short notice, but we really need to reserve the needed rooms quickly.

The photos above show the Inn..it's a beautiful place to stay and become acquainted and/or re- acquainted with your fellow "Ladies of Grace."

Ladies Bible Study

Attention Ladies ....

You're all invited to join us for our next Ladies Bible Study that begins Tuesday, Sept. 15. We'll be doing another study by Beth Moore entitled "A Woman's Heart: God's Dwelling Place"

Wanda Gabbert is our teacher once again and she'll help us discover the parallels of the Tabernacle's building and your life as a chosen vessel of God as taught by Beth Moore.

The cost of the class workbook is $10.00 and is payable to either Wanda or Sandy McGlassion. To register please fill out a form that's included with the church bulletin; email Wanda at wfgabbert@wowway.com or call the church office at 734-282-0115.

Remember: Class begins Tuesday, Sept. 15, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. and we'll meet

each Tuesday morning thereafter till the class is finished.

Grace-ful Bag Ladies Ministries, 2009

There's a new ministry at Grace Bible Church - Grace-ful 'Bag Ladies'

In the photo above Linda Sourbeck & Camilla McKee show some of the pillow cases that have been embellished and donated to this ministry. These 'Traveling Bags' are actually pillow cases that will be given to women who are temporarily housed in shelters.

Due to conflicting Spring & Summer schedules, this ministry is currently home-based. You can work at your own pace, make the bags from a pattern, or simply embellish a pre-made pillow case. Please add a card no larger than 5"x6" with a Bible verse or words of encouragement to each pillow case. At the end of May, June & July, all bags will be collected by Linda Sourbeck and then given to Enchanted Makeovers (for further information on this outreach, go to http://www.terrysenchantedcottage.com/ ).


A pillow case may seem like such a small thing to those of us who have homes of our own, but to a woman who's in a shelter, they speak of God's love for them made visible through the hands of His people. Whether it is one or many, the 'Bags' will be very much appreciated.

Beginnning Tuesday, March 17, a Ladies' Bible Class will be held from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m at Grace Bible Church. Classes will be held each Tuesday morning for 10 weeks and the subject is "Believing God" from the book of the same name. You must purchase a workbook (for a cost of $10.00), and we'll be watching a video each week that is taught by Beth Moore. Wanda Gabbert will be leading each week's discussion. Ladies, please sign up by seeing Sandy McGlassion so workbooks can be purchased prior to the beginning of the class. All ladies are invited to come and bring a friend or friends with you.

Here's an excerpt from the introduction to the book:

"Believing God: Experiencing a Fresh Explosion of Faith by Beth Moore is based on Isaiah 43:10 and explores what it means to not only believe in God but to believe Him.

Do you take God at His Word, believing what He has told you, or do you just believe in His existence and the salvation He offers? Beth Moore came face-to-face with this question well into adulthood. At first, her response to God was, "Lord, of course I believe in You. I've believed in You all my life." Over time, the Holy Spirit led her to understand He was saying, "I didn't ask you to believe in Me. I asked you to believe Me." Through studying the lives of Abraham, Moses, and others from Hebrews 11 as examples of persons who believed God, Beth encourages women to deepen their own trust in God and receive a fresh word from Him."
