Chronicles of NarniaThe third movie based on the C.S. Lewis books, The Chronicles of Narnia, continues to play in theatres. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the title of this episode. The books are full of allusions to biblical truth, and worthy of consideration.
After he is "un-dragoned" by Aslan, Eustace explains what he has experienced to Edmund, who had needed similar drastic action by Aslan in the first episode, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe. Edmund therefore understands.
"It is beyond our ability to fully understand how or why God transforms us in the supernatural ways only he can. But it is well within our ability to acknowledge that we desperately need his transforming grace - and it's when we reach this point that God can begin the metamorphosis. We may have tried numerous ways to improve ourselves on our own, but have fallen short. Whether we come immediately, gradually, or only as the result of a crisis, when we open our hearts and minds to God to do the work, recognizing it is beyond what we can do for ourselves, he will act on our behalf."
