Welcome Visitors!

Many people are not sure what a Bible Church is. Simply put, it is a group of people who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as our only salvation from sin, and who join together to study His Word, and to honor Him with our songs, our service, our giving, and our fellowship. We focus on doing what the Bible tells us to do, because it is infallible and unfailing.

If you are looking for a new church home, where the people are not only moral, but kind and interested in others; where the Bible is deeply appreciated for who it helps us to become; where we attempt to honor Jesus Christ, our Savior, as Lord; and where you would be welcomed, please give us consideration.

We are pleased you are here today, and pray God's best for you. Please let us know your questions.

The men are invited to meet at our church building at 2:45 pm this afternoon, September 12, to caravan together to Grace Point Church in Adrian, Michigan. A Concrete Thank You!

We are grateful for the recent afternoon labors of Ron Parrish,

Rob Roelofs and Kevin Godin in patching our parking lot

driveway entrance. Thanks, men!

Something to think about....

"The grace of God is love freely shown towards guilty sinners, contrary to their merit and indeed in defiance of their demerit. It is God's showing goodness to persons who deserve only severity, and had no reason to expect anything but severity. We have seen why the thought of grace means so little to some church people; namely, because they do not share the beliefs about God and man which it presupposes.

Now we have to ask: why should this thought mean so much to others? It is surely clear that, once a man is convinced that his state and need are as described, the New Testament gospel of grace cannot but sweep him off his feet with wonder and joy. For it tells how our Judge has become our Saviour."

We are giving thanks to our Lord for a very busy and successful week of V.B.S. About 50 kids and adults were involved, and our emphasis was on God's Word. We are grateful to Lynn Bolton as Director, and for a great staff to support her. The picnic on Sunday was well attended, and greatly appreciated by all. Please pray that lessons learned will help us all to grow in Him. Let's go!

Primary Election is This Tuesday

We encourage you to use your ballot on Tuesday to vote for believers in Jesus Christ, who are obedient to God's Word (when you can find them). Failing that, seek to vote for people who uphold Biblical principles in their decision-making.

A useful Internet resource can be http://www.rtl.org/, the official website of Right to Life of Michigan. They provide a personalized pro-life ballot there, organized by voting district.

Also, you can review information at http://www.michiganfamily.org/, the website of Michigan Family Forum. This groups provides a non-partisan Voter's Guide, organized by county.

(2) Now when John, while imprisoned, heard of the works of Christ, he sent word by his disciples (3) and said to Him, "Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?" (4) Jesus answered and said to them, "Go and report to John what you hear and see: (5) the blind receive sight and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Downriver Cruise Outreach

A number of us here believe that we are blessed to be in the automotive capital of the world, and look forward to the car shows and cruises that summer brings to southeast Michigan.

Once again, this year we are focusing on the Downriver Cruise this Saturday, June 26, for outreach. We will again meet in front of the Downriver Christian Library on Fort Street in Lincoln Park.

We will give away bottles of water and this year a new gospel tract, "Water is Life". We need at least 300 small bottles of water. If you would like to donate this year, please leave bottled water in the foyer under the coat rack between now and this Saturday morning. Thank you!

If you'd like to participate, please contact Joel Ashby or Pastor Bill.

Something to think about...

“There is nothing which shows our ignorance so much as our impatience under trouble. We forget that every cross is a message from God, and intended to do us good in the end. Trials are intended to make us think—to wean us from the world—to send us to the Bible—to drive us to our knees.” “Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD” (Deuteronomy 8:3).

Salute to our High School Graduates

Congratulations to our two seniors for 2010

Marissa McGlassion is a graduate of Anderson High School, and has been a faithful staff assistant for 3 years in our Children's Church program. She plans to major in forensic physiology attending a local community college for the first 2 years, and might just have a future in fund raising.

Zach Roelofs is a graduate of Allen Park High School, and has contributed musically to our praise and worship for some time. Zach plans to attend Ferris State University to study graphic design.

We salute you, and pray God's blessings on you in the days ahead. May the Lord Jesus Christ always be your "pearl of great price" and "treasure hidden in a field."
