The Garden

As our Husbandman, the Lord will manage the garden of our hearts perfectly if we will allow Him to have His way. It is important for us not to resist His work or to pray against the things He wants to do.

If we ask Him not to send the till, then the hardness in our hearts would not be broken and become receptive to the life-giving seeds He wants to sow;

If we ask Him not to send the dark clouds, then we would not receive the rains that are needed to keep our hearts from becoming dry and barren;

If we ask Him not to send the summer sun, then our hearts would not send our roots of faith deeper into the soil of His love;

If we ask Him not to send the knife, then the branches of our hearts would not be pruned and be unable to produce the abundant fruit that will glorify Him;

If we ask Him not to send the strong winds, then our hearts would fail to send out the seeds that are needed to enrich the lives of others.
