Something to think about...

"What does love look like? It has the hands to help others.
It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy.
It has eyes to see misery and want.
It has the ears to hear the sighs and sorrows of men.
That is what love looks like."
St. Augustine

Welcome Visitors!

What is a Bible church? If is a group of people who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as our only salvation from sin, and who join for Bible study, for worship, for prayer, for service, and for fellowship. We focus on doing what the Bible tells us to do, because it is infallible and inerrant.

If you are looking for a new church home, where the people are not only moral, but kind and interested in others; where the Bible is deeply appreciated for who it helps us to become; where we attempt to honor Jesus Christ, our Savior, as Lord; and where you would be welcomed, please give us consideration.
We are pleased you are here today, and pray God's best for you. Please let us know your questions.

Something to think about...

"Cheap grace is the deadly enemy of our Church. We are fighting today for costly grace. Cheap grace means grace sold on the market like cheapjack wares. The sacraments, the forgiveness of sin, and the consolidations of religion are thrown away at cut prices ...

In such a Church the world finds a cheap covering for its sins; no contrition is required, still less any real desire to be delivered from sin ... Cheap grace means the justification of sin without the justification of the sinner ... it is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate."

Dietrich Bonhoeffer, The Cost of Discipleship

Sep 20, 2010

Something to think about...

"The church is constantly being tempted to accept this world as her home...but if she is wise she will consider that she stands in the valley between the mountain peaks of eternity past and eternity to come. The past is gone forever and the present is passing as swift as the shadow on the sundial of Ahaz. Even if the earth should continue a million years not one of us could stay to enjoy it. We do well to think of the long tomorrow."

A.W. Tozer

Something to think about...

"God just doesn't throw a life preserver to a drowning person. He goes to the bottom of the sea, and pulls a corpse from the bottom of the sea, takes him up on the bank, breathes into him the breath of life and makes him alive."

R. C. Sproul

Much has been written over the past few years about the New Age movement and the threat it poses to historic Christianity ... Yet the extent of the controversy is not merely an honest doctrinal difference among orthodox believers; it rather entails a confrontation between the gospel preached by the Lord Jesus Christ and another gospel...

Jesus said, "In this world you will have trouble, but take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33). In sharp contrast, the word-faith teachers promise unlimited health and wealth to believers who can conjure up their brand of faith.
Jesus exhorted His followers not to "labor for that which perishes" but to "labor for that which is eternal" (John 6:27). The prosperity gospel, by contrast, encourages Christians to focus on what they can receive from Christ in the here and now...

Christ has become merely a means to an end, and believers are induced through slick Madison Avenue manipulation to come to the Master's table, not to experience fellowship and intimacy with the Master, but to enjoy what is on the Master's table. In sharp distinction to this message, the Jesus of the Scriptures is not a means to an end, He is the end. (e.g. Phil. 3:7-8)
