Communion Service with Danny Toma
Sermon by Pastor Bill Connell:
"The Reliability of Scripture - An Overview of 2 Thessalonians"

Welcome Visitors!

If you are a first-time visitor today, please know that we have been praying that you would come to worship with us. If you are also looking for a new church home, we would be pleased to tell you more about our church family. Please share your questions and comments with us. If there is anything we can do to make you more comfortable, please let us know.

Chronicles of Narnia

The third movie based on the C.S. Lewis books, The Chronicles of Narnia, comes to theatres nationally this Friday. The books are full of allusions to biblical truth, and worthy of consideration. Of course, how well the movie tells the story is yet to be seen.

"In Prince Caspian, Edmund tells us that Lucy sees Aslan (the Christ-like lion) more often than anyone else. As a result, it seems she has acquired many of his attributes: a caring and nurturing heart, an honest and brave spirit, and sometimes patience and wisdom beyond her years. This is evident in the excitement Lucy experiences in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader as she returns to Narnia. She looks forward to an adventure, especially one that hopefully involves Aslan.

"How much more could we be like Jesus if we had the faith and focus of Lucy...if we could look for him and his purposes in everything we do and be eager when adventures and trials come our way...if we could change our focus from the immediate discomfort and the anxiety of the unknown to being mindful and thankful for what preparation we have had, and so reveal what we truly treasure: Jesus. Living fully in the moment, looking for glimpses of God's hand in all things, rejoicing in his presence, we might find we struggle less, enjoy more, and become a bit more like him in the process. Are you willing, like Lucy, to be watchful for glimpses of God this week?"

(From The Soul of C.S. Lewis, by Wayne Martindale, Jerry Root and Linda Washington, page 61)

Remember Matthew 6:21: "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
